This year marks the 18th Annual PI Games—a cause close to our hearts. Steve, our team, and I pour hours of work and passion into this event, and every bit of it is worth the effort. This isn’t just about raising funds; it’s about remembering and honoring those affected by cancer and celebrating the incredible resilience of those fighting it. |
While Remembrance Day serves to honor fallen heroes, the PI Games gives us a chance to reflect on the loved ones we’ve lost to cancer and support those still in the fight. Our gym community comes together not only to make a difference but to share memories, strength, and gratitude. |
Steve and I both have personal reasons that fuel our dedication to this event. Over 25 years ago, just as we started dating, Steve lost his 13-year-old cousin to cancer. It was a deeply emotional experience and a first glimpse into how unfair and relentless this disease can be. That same heartbreak hit Steve even earlier when he lost one of his best high school friends to testicular cancer.Over the years, cancer has impacted our family in countless ways. Steve’s mom underwent surgery for skin cancer, my mom faced her own journey as a survivor, and we had to say goodbye to Sean, our dear friend and best man at our wedding, as well as another beloved PI family member just last year. |
We hope the PI Games not only brings joy and camaraderie to all who participate but also creates a moment of reflection for everyone touched by cancer. Let’s remember, honor, and give back, together. |
Though this is a heavy topic, our event balances it with plenty of fun and lighter moments. Check out the video below that highlights this weeks’ remaining “lighter” events of our Annual Train the Trainer Fundraiser. |
