As we head into the second week of the 19th Annual PI Games, we’re reminded once again why this event holds such a special place in our community. Each year, our team comes together with a shared purpose: to honour those touched by cancer, support those still fighting, and channel our collective strength into something meaningful.
What started nearly two decades ago as a small initiative has grown into one of the most heartfelt traditions at PI—uniting clients, coaches, families, and friends in a powerful blend of remembrance, movement, and generosity.
Rolling Into Week 2 of the PI Games
We hope you all had a chance to ring the cowbell during our $5 Challenge last week—the Week 1 kickoff that filled the gym with so much fun and energy. (BTW, if we get enough requests, we’ll extend the $5 challenge into week 2 😜)
Now, as we enter Week 2, we’re keeping the momentum going with more ways to participate, connect, and give back.
Why We Do This
While cancer is a serious and often heavy subject, these two weeks are intentionally filled with joy, connection, and FUN. Our goal is to get as many clients involved as possible while raising funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Together, our PI community has already contributed over $178,000 through this annual fundraiser. Your support has made a real impact—and this year, we want to show exactly how.
Take a look at the infographic below to see where donations go: providing safe lodging, meals, transportation to treatment, wigs, and more.
Your participation directly supports real people navigating one of life’s toughest battles.
A Cause Close to Home
For us, the PI Games have always been personal. They remind us of the loved ones we’ve lost and the survivors who continue to inspire us.
Steve lost his 13-year-old cousin early in our relationship, followed not long after by the passing of one of his closest friends. Cancer has touched our family many times since—from Steve’s mom’s surgery for skin cancer, to my mom’s journey as a survivor, to the loss of our dear friend Sean (best man at our wedding), and another PI family member just two years ago.
And today, at least two clients and close friends are actively battling cancer with incredible courage—doing everything they can to fight the good fight.
The PI Games give us all a moment to reflect, to remember, and to unite. And just by taking part, you’re engaging in two powerful cancer-fighting strategies:
moving your body and connecting with a supportive community.
