Find Your Balance This September

YouTube video

September often feels like one of the busiest months of the year. With back-to-school schedules, shifting routines, and the return of everyday structure, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

The good news? A few simple strategies can help you reset, find balance, and bring a sense of calm back into your days. Start by choosing just 1–3 small action steps—nothing complicated, but powerful enough to make a real difference.

Here are a few ideas, listed from the simplest to a little more challenging (but all completely doable):

1. Breathe to Reset

Take a full inhale through your nose, then a long, slow exhale through pursed lips—repeat 3 times.

This type of focused breathing has been shown to lower heart rate, calm your nervous system, and help you feel more grounded. Use it any time stress starts to creep in or when you need to refocus.

2. Take a 10-Minute Walk (Preferably Outside)

Never underestimate the power of walking. Just 10 minutes can:

–Lower blood pressure

–Regulate blood sugar

–Boost brain function

–Reduce stress and symptoms of depression

–Ease physical tension and pain

Whether you’re mostly sedentary, juggling work and family, or already active but tied to a desk, this small step pays off big.

3. Challenge Your Glutes & Core

Modern life = hours of sitting, which often leads to underactive glutes and weak core muscles. This can affect everything from posture to energy. Try this quick move to wake them up:

Cross-Press Glute Bridge

–1–3 sets of 8–12 reps per side

This exercise engages your glutes, strengthens your core, and even challenges coordination by connecting brain and body.
